ANTI OXIDANTS

Antioxidants are chemical additives that prevent oxidative degradation of PVC during processing and service life. Oxidation causes yellowing, embrittlement, cracking, and loss of mechanical strength. The PVC industry typically employs a synergistic combination of primary & auxiliary antioxidants rather than a single component. This approach enhances oxidation resistance while minimizing side effects from high concentrations of any one additive.

ANTI OXIDANT 1010

Antioxidant 1010 is a high-performance sterically hindered phenolic primary oxidant widely used in the PVC industry with a molecular weight of 1178 and a melting point range of 110 – 125 °C. It is designed for high-temperature processing applications. Its high molecular weight ensures low volatility and excellent extraction resistance, providing long-term thermal stability to the polymer. Due to its high melting point, it requires complete melting during processing to ensure proper dispersion within PVC.

APPLICATIONS
  • OUTDOOR PVC PIPES
  • WIRE AND CABLES INSULATION
  • ENGIENERING PLASTICS
  • ALL OTHER HIGH TEMP APPLICATIONS

ANTIOXIDANT 1076

It is a high-performance, sterically handled phenolic primary antioxidant with a molecular weight of 531 and a melting point of 50-55 degrees Celsius. Its low melting point provides better compatibility with PVC melts, alloying for easier incorporation and more uniform dispersion

Like antioxidant 1010, it functions by trapping free radicals to prevent oxidative chain reactions. Its excellent compatibility and solubility make it practically suitable for applications where uniform distribution and processing ease are critical.

APPLICATIONS
  • FLEXIBLE PVC PRODUCT
  • RIGID PVC FILMS AND SHEETS
  • COLOURED PVC PROFILES
  • GENERAL PURPOSE COMPOUNDING
